Explore the treasures of northern Italy with Luni Holidays Vacation Rentals. The magnificent Doumo, Florence. - Sightseeing in Lunigiana, Tuscany, Italy - LuniHolidays

Lunigiana is the perfect holiday base for exploring the sights of Northern Italy. There are a range of things to see and do to suit every taste, from the rich scenery of the beautiful Tuscan countryside, the classic architecture found in Florence and Pisa, to the quaint villages of the Cinque Terre with their breathtaking walks.

Italy is justly famous for its works of art, its ancient monuments, Renaissance cities and splendid public buildings. So many, so rich, and so varied are the sights that it is difficult to choose, but we would especially recommend the small friendly city of Lucca and the famous monuments of Pisa.

Whatever your interest, whether monuments or markets, city or country, your holiday villa or apartment in Lunigiana is a perfect base from which to enjoy the pleasures of Italy. You will find a range of information about some of the attractions that you can find, click the links to find out more:

The Cinque Terre - The famous five villages of the Cinque Terre cling to the rocky Ligurian shore. At their back ancient terraced vineyards still produce the fine Cinque Terre wines whilst their feet are lapped by the blue waters of the Riviera di Levante. These colourful timeless villages are a mecca for artists and photographers [more ...]

Florence - Despite the millions of words written and countless photographs taken, Florence has to be experienced at least once. If it can only be a once-in-a-lifetime visit you really must include the major treasures, the Duomo, the Baptistery, the Campanile, and of course the Uffizi galleries containing some of the world's greatest artworks. [more ...]

Pisa - Though most famous for its leaning tower, Pisa has much more to offer. Of all the monuments the first and foremost is, without doubt, the Campo dei Miracoli one of the most famous sights in Italy and the world. [more ...]

La Spezia - Although best known as a naval base La Spezia is a surprisingly elegant city best seen on foot. Exotic palm-studded gardens line the sea front before giving way to the magnificent nineteenth-century gardens and the airy shaded arcades of the Via Chiodo. [more ...]

Lucca - Lucca is a jewel of a city within four kilometers of mediaeval walls which, in the 19th century, were transformed into a tree-lined avenue, the full length of which can be walked or cycled around. [more ...]
